Package of the Month
- 1 Sheet of Tissue in Scarlet (20x30")
- Approx 1 yard of 1 1/2" wide Solitaire Ribbon in Lime
- Small candies like: skittles, M&Ms, Jelly Beans
- Double-sided tape & scissors
We spied Bell'occhio's almond filled strawberry packaging and thought that it would make a fun candy favor packaging!
Cut tissue into 15" x 15" square. You will need two layers.
Fold from one corner to corner (you will end up with a triangle).
With folded edge down, estimate the center point on the folded edge and fold each side up to form a point the bottom.(see second image)
Place one piece of double-sided tape under the last outside edge. (It will help maintain your point)
Open cone and fill with candies (about 1 1/4 cup).
Gently but firmly twist the top together. Be sure the twist ends up in the center.
Using the ribbon, double loop around tissue stem and tie firmly into a shoe-tie bow.
At ends of ribbon, but three spikes to mimic a strawberry.
Lastly, cut off the tissue as close as possible to the ribbon, without cutting into the ribbon.
Option: If filling almonds or other nuts, it is suggested to use a layer of cellane or a polybag to prevent the natural oils from coming through.
